On Thursday, October 2nd, Vanguard Academy hosted the first Superintendent’s Parent Roundtable of the year at the San Juan Memorial Library. Parents joined Superintendent Dr. Marisol Rocha for an engaging discussion on district initiatives, school updates, and ways families can help shape the future of our schools.
💬 The roundtable created a space to:
✅ Learn about district goals
✅ Share ideas & feedback
✅ Connect with other parents
✅ Participate in a Q&A session
🗓 Monthly meetings will continue through May 2026, and we look forward to welcoming more families to future sessions!

FCCLA and Kindness Clubs 2nd Annual Chalk the Walk was a great success! Students and parents enjoyed worship music, helpful resources, and an inspiring guest speaker. Vanguard’s sidewalks were filled with colorful messages and drawings of hope, encouragement, and unity. Thank you to everyone who joined us in making this special event possible!

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Beethoven Criminal Justice Club will be collecting donations for Mujeres Unidas Organization starting tomorrow Oct 1st- Oct 23rd. Items can be dropped off at the front office or in room L104 with our Criminal Justice Advisor Mrs. Cantu. Items needed are listed on the flyer and must be new.

We are so proud to celebrate Juan Cano, who has officially passed his nationally recognized Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) board exam and also earned his credentials as a Certified Patient Care Technician Assistant (PCT) last year! 🙌
But that’s not all—Juan’s dedication and excellence have also earned him a nomination to represent Vanguard Academy and the State of Texas at the Congress of Future Medical Leaders, a prestigious national program honoring academically superior students dedicated to advancing the future of medicine. He will join other young leaders in Boston, Massachusetts, to explore opportunities that will shape his path in healthcare. 🩺🌎

At this month’s Board Meeting, Vanguard Academy students truly shined as they led our Pledge and Invocation!
Alanis Velez, a 3rd grader at Vanguard Beethoven Elementary, proudly led the Pledge of Allegiance and Texas Pledge. As a dual language learner, Alanis embraces both Spanish and English, celebrating her Puerto Rican heritage while excelling in her studies. She loves spending time with family, exploring nature, and learning about different cultures.
Jillian Rodriguez, a senior at Vanguard Beethoven Early College High School, delivered the Invocation. A dedicated leader and community advocate, Jillian serves as President of both the Student Council and Criminal Justice Club, is a cheerleader, and participates in multiple community organizations. She plans to pursue a career in law and continue making a positive impact in her community. 🙌
We are proud of Alanis and Jillian for representing Vanguard Academy with such confidence, leadership, and heart! 💙💚

It was a 3-0 sweep!

Due to potential weather, we will be moving the pep rally in to the gym. We will move outside for the burning of the B once the sun sets. Starts at 6
Seniors & Parents, please join us in the Library on Oct 7 to meet with Herff Jones to order your graduation Cap & Gown and any other graduation accessories. Seniors received the package with all ordering information today. While you can order online or with Herff Jones in their office, we are offering a one night event where you can meet with their staff and place your order on site.
Please note, students will be served on a first come, first serve basis. When you arrive in the library, you will be given a number and students will be seen in order of the number. Please expect to for the entire process to take about 45 mins.
